Who is Latrell Sprewell
Latrell started playing basketball in college in 1988 where he played with the Three Rivers Community College Raiders Basketball Team and the University of Alabama.
After college, he was selected for the 1992 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. In his early years of career, he made a significant impact on the Warriors by starting 69 of 77 games he played. Because of his consistent improvements, he won NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in the 1992-1993 season.
He was a major player in the team Warriors until 1997 and during his time with the team, he made three NBA All-Star appearances. In 1997 he got to indulge in controversies regarding violent and aggressive behaviour. Following these controversies, he was suspended for 68 games.
After the incident Warriors traded him to the New York Knicks in 1998. He became a key member of the team and took the team to the NBA Finals in the 1998-1999 season. But he didn’t get to stay on the team for long due to his non-serious behavior towards the team and rules and regulations.
In 2003 Sprewell was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played two seasons with them and ended his career on bad terms with the team. His last NBA game was against the San Antonio Spurs in 2005.
Sprewell faced financial and legal issues such as unpaid taxes and foreclosure on his properties after retirement.
